Week 4 - Choosing the Right Path Part 2

When we want God to put us on the right path as we go through life, we are acceding to His plan for our life. This does not mean that we will be freed from bad news events. A=er all, Jesus has told us that living on this earth puts us in enemy territory and that we will face hardships along our path (“In this world you will have trouble.”) But he goes on to say, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33. John reminds us that “...the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John4:4 and our confidence is reinforced that “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. Paul tells us that God will do amazing things for those who declare God sovereign in their life and want His plan to be our plan for our life’s journey:“

“We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan.

Romans 8:28 The Voice

While I knew all this before my health journey began, I now became much more conscious and sensitive to seeing the evidence that God was repeatedly fulfilling the promise of Romans 8:28 as I faced new trials. I became assured that however bad the bad news that each day brings, and they could be very, very bad, God can bring good out of even the worst of them. Not only that, but God would open my eyes to see the good hidden in what at first appeared to be nothing but bad. Hard as it was to believe (almost too good to be true) He really could, and was about to bring Romans 8:28 true in my life.

Most of us are aware of and treasure Romans 8:28, but many pay more attention to the first part of the verse than the last part: “...accept His invitation to live according to His plan.” God yearns to bring us into His embrace and do the good He has planned for us (“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11), but He wants us to know that we must want Him to bring what He knows is good, not what we consider good according to worldly criteria.
